I’m fortunate, like you Bill, to have a songbird nearby, reminding me of who I am. First, I had to understand the origins of the squawking one I thought was me.❤️Many thanks! ❤️
Good on ya! I am grateful I am on your list.. because every piece is a special treat to savor and say: wow Bill really knows how to get me where I’m at!
My DEAREST Bill ❣️Your descriptions so vivid - I am right there with you - the mockingbird 💖 but the BEST is your expression of your experience in your distinct Eeyore voice - you always make me smile 😘
I love that your mockingbird’s song carries on trough it all...and today your “Appendage” piece made me laugh out loud. Thank you for that and the perfect picture you word-painted of you disrupted morning ritual in “This Kind of Morning.” I could see you so clearly and love you and the familiar reality you share with us.
I love this: "I hope your mistakes, gaffes, goof-ups, and disasters drift behind you like arguing strangers on the street, or automobile exhaust in a summer breeze, or some other mildly disturbing but easily forgotten, unremarkable occurrence in your day. And as they fade away you simply go about the business of taking care of whatever spilled, broke, got hurt, forgotten, misassembled, or bungled, without giving yourself a hard time." It is easier to let go as I age, perhaps because I feel less judgment, that I have a track record that transcends the gaffe - and there surely are a number of them!
What a thoughtful selection - I appreciate poems that say to me, I am fine whatever I am doing, have done, or have not done. Full permission to bungle away. Your reading aloud provides nuances I would otherwise miss, so gratitude for the addition of your voice.

These poems are all so intimate, touching, human. Once again, you have hit me in deep places and made me FEEL. Bravo.
Thank you, Janine
I just have to remember to listen for the song.
